What is Barosa? 

Barosa is a private collecting app which helps members get access to other exciting collectors for networking, friendship and trading in a private, trusted and secure manner.

Where does the name 'Barosa' come from? 

"Bharosa" is a Hindi word that translates to "trust" and "faith" in English. It represents a sense of confidence or reliance on someone or something. The concept of bharosa is often associated with trust-building and establishing a strong bond in personal relationships, business partnerships, or any situation where trust plays a significant role. 

Who started Barosa?

Founded in 2022 by Jae, a native New Yorker and LA transplant, the platform is the brainchild of an avid collector enthusiast and serial entrepreneur with a history of multiple successful exits. Driven by his passion for collecting and community building, Jae's vision is to create a trusted community of collectors where individuals can expand and strengthen their friendships while sharing their mutual love of collectibles. 

What is Barosa's mission? 

To help members find and connect with other trusted collectors. 

How does Barosa work? 

Members require at least one referral and complete identity verification. After completion, they are able to manage their collection, connect with other collectors, create & join groups, and buy & sell goods directly from each other.

What items can I list in my collection?

Members can list art, cars, collectibles, watches and fine wine & spirits. 

What is Commerce Chat and how does it work? 

Commerce Chat is a proprietary e-commerce solution, which allows members to complete their deals entirely through the messaging interface. It includes chat, DocuSign, contracts, payment, escrow. FedEx shipment tracking, armored shipment (required for items valued $75,000 and higher) and transaction ratings. 

What are seller fees? 

There are no seller fees. 

What are buyer fees? 

Buyer fees include the following:

- Trust and safety

- Payment processing

- Shipping & insurance

- Transaction fee

- Return shipping: for returns

What is the payout fee?

A payout occurs each time you request funds to be sent to your bank account. Fee is 0.25% + $0.25 per payout sent. 

What form of payments does Barosa accept?

ACH bank transfer, bank wire transfer and credit cards.

How does Barosa safeguard members from potential scammers?

While no solution is completely full proof, our app helps safeguard members through various protection capabilities below:

- Mandatory Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification to ensure all users are fully authenticated

- DocuSign for secure contract agreements

- Trust Scoring to help assess user reliability

- Vouching System for community-backed credibility

- 100% transaction escrow to protect payments

-Custom Private Groups ensures interactions are visible to vetted and approved group members

Are my items insured against shipping damage or theft?

Yes. Items are insured for shipping damages and theft in accordance with our shipping carrier's terms and conditions.

How do I return an item?

Email support@barosa.co and include the transaction unique identification number requesting a return.

How does vouching work? 

Barosa's social vouching system leverages the power of community to create a reliable and dynamic measure of trust, fostering safer and more collaborative environments. Members can "vouch" for others based on a 5 grade rating system, indicating their trust in the person's reliability and honesty. Vouches can be given based on past transactions, interactions, or personal relationships. 

How does the Trust Score work?

Proprietary scoring system that evaluates an individual's trustworthiness based on endorsements or "vouches" from other people within the Barosa community to generate a numerical trust score. 

 

It is designed to reduce the risk of fraud or untrustworthy behavior, encourage positive behavior by rewarding users who are trustworthy and respected by their peers and strengthens community bonds by reinforcing trust and accountability.
